Step 4 - Violation must lead to consequence

Consequences must be in proportion to the seriousness of the incident. If the allegation/report is found to be unreliable following investigation of the matter, the matter must be closed.
With regard to harassment by customers, guests and users all workplaces should have procedures/guidelines in place for the appropriate consequences, both for the matter at hand and for cases that may arise in the future. In cases where the company makes use of a security firm, reactions to harassment should be subject to the agreement with the security firm concerned. If the harassment falls under the Penal Code, the employer must consider reporting the matter to the police.
